Plastic is a Hazardous Substance
McSisters were introduced this past year to an awesome organization called Cafeteria Culture. You can learn more about them under the Making a Difference Advocacy section of our blog. We were introduced to Jenny Davies, MD MPH JD, Cafeteria Culture Public and Environmental Health Director. She received a political science degree from Duke University (1981), an MD and an MPH from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1990), and a JD in environmental law from Lewis and Clark Law School (2021). She researches, writes, and is an inspirational speaker about the need to think differently about plastic: a chemically and biologically active substance that poses an existential threat to our species and to all species on the planet. You may contact Jenny through Cafeteria Culture to arrange for her to speak for your organization. Through her work you will learn about discoveries made that show how plastic threatens human health before and after use. As mentioned in Barbara’s bio, we will introduce our followers to dedicated individuals working toward making a profound difference in the area of the environment. Jenny is truly an inspiration in her dedication to research, advocacy, and human health.
