Plastic pollution is everywhere – what can we do about it?

Scientific study after study is accumulating more and more information about the extensive impact of single-use plastic on our health and environment.  It’s in the air we breathe, in the plastic water and drink bottles we use, and in the plastic-wrapped food products we eat.

Plastic and microplastic has been found nearly everywhere on the planet, from the highest mountains to the deepest parts of the oceans, and in and on the animals in the ocean.  While studies on the impacts on health are underway, studies have documented that nearly 75% of all plastic ever produced has become waste and 87% of that waste becomes plastic pollution in nature.

Animals in the ocean ingest plastic and become entangled in plastic debris causing injury and death. The chemicals in plastic cause harm to animals and humans.

What can you do?
